Siemens expands its portfolio with Sinamics GH150 drive

Siemens announced that the expansion of its high-power drives portfolio with the introduction of the Sinamics Perfect Harmony GH150 air-cooled drive. At 45,000 HP and 13.8 kV output voltage, the Sinamics Perfect Harmony GH150 air-cooled drive is the largest, single-channel, air-cooled variable frequency drive in the world.

This drive features the Sinamics control platform known for its versatility and seamless integration with automation systems. The Sinamics Perfect Harmony GH150 air-cooled drive offers multiple heat management options for additional levels of flexibility and reliability. With the ability to use air-to-air or air-to-water heat exchanger configurations, it provides superior protection from contaminates with IP54 protection.

The modular multilevel converter (M2C) topology of this drive produces an almost sinusoidal output waveform with virtually no stress on the motor and load. This unique technology provides enhanced availability through its bypass and cell redundancy capabilities.

The cell-based design of the Sinamics Perfect Harmony GH150 allows the drive to be scaled precisely for a wide range of voltages and output power. The Sinamics Perfect Harmony GH150 also provides an adjustable footprint to fit within a customer’s existing plant space.
