NUMECA & coupledNumerics JV for CFA Simulation

NUMECA and coupledNumerics announced the establishment of an exclusive joint-venture for the industrialization and commercialization of a new, highly competitive, fully coupled, pressure-based solver.

Though this joint-venture, NUMECA co-owns the technology and integrates the coupledNumerics solver within its new generation of multiphysics environment OMNIS™, extending its current product portfolio to a wide range of new applications in the Energetics, Automotive and Process industries, bringing significant savings in terms of overall engineering and computing time.

“Highly robust convergence and speed-up of up to two orders of magnitude, at identical accuracy compared to segregated solvers, have been demonstrated on a large number of applications, such as turbomachinery, heat exchangers, industrial fans, car thermal management or external aerodynamics.” said Prof Charles Hirsch, President of NUMECA International, “We are therefore very excited with the perspective of bringing this technology to our customers and partners.”

NUMECA and coupledNumerics are also joining forces to continuously extend the functionalities of the coupled pressure-based solver towards additional applications and industrial sectors.

The joint-venture reinforces NUMECA’s strategy to combine best-in-class solvers, tuned towards dedicated families of applications. With the power of OMNIS™, a simplified workflow takes users from CAD set-up, through meshing and advanced flow solvers to optimization within its HPC infrastructure.
