TEMISTh & Eplus3D advance metal AM in thermal solutions

TEMISTh, a pioneer in heat exchanger manufacturing, partners with Eplus3D to advance metal AM for thermal solutions. With Eplus3D Metal AM Solutions, TEMISTh produces complex nickel-alloy heat exchangers with 99.9% density for extreme conditions. A key application is the DESOLINATION project, where 3D-printed heat exchangers enable efficient solar-powered desalination. The technology halves production time, enables modular large-scale assembly, and overcomes traditional manufacturing limits. This collaboration demonstrates AM’s transformative potential in aerospace, energy, and sustainable technologies, showcasing Eplus3D’s industrial AM leadership and TEMISTh’s innovation in high-performance thermal management.

Using the EP-M300, TEMISTh successfully 3D printed IN718 nickel-alloy heat exchanger cores with a 50μm layer thickness, completing the build in 130 hours of continuous printing. Post-process heat treatment achieved material density exceeding 99.9%, while the modular design allowed welding assembly into large-scale heat exchangers (0.4 x 1.2 x 1.6m³) – surpassing traditional manufacturing size constraints.

This collaboration underscores the transformative role of metal AM in thermal solutions, enabling lighter, stronger, and more efficient designs that traditional methods cannot match. As TEMISTh continues to innovate, Eplus3D remains committed to advancing industrial AM, empowering industries to achieve sustainable, high-performance manufacturing.
