Wei Wu’s Heatrix wins the 17th IDEE Förderpreis

Dr Wei Wu is the founder and managing director of Heatrix, a Bremen-based startup that she co-established with her co-founder, Dr Stefan Gasow-Lux.

The concept for Heatrix emerged from the realization that energy-intensive industries urgently require CO₂-neutral alternatives for high-temperature processes.

Heatrix provides CO₂-neutral process heat for energy-intensive industrial applications at a lower cost than fossil fuels. Heatrix has developed a modular, electric air heater that utilizes renewable electricity and, in conjunction with a thermal energy storage system, delivers continuous, competitively priced hot air up to 1,500°C. The patented design is characterized by simplicity, cost-effectiveness, and modularity, enabling industrial operators to reduce emissions while mitigating exposure to volatile fossil fuel prices.
