Assets Team highly commended for Richmond Park heat network upgrade

Great Places’ Assets Team has been recognized as Highly Commended in the Retrofit Project of the Year category at the 2025 HVR Awards for its work on the Richmond Park Heat Network upgrade in Sheffield.

The project, funded with £1.6M through the Government’s Heat Network Efficiency Scheme (HNES), upgraded the communal heating system serving 299 homes. Rather than replacing infrastructure, the team focused on enhancing existing systems—a sustainable and cost-effective approach that is already delivering measurable benefits.

Key improvements include:

  • 40% reduction in heat loss

  • 23% drop in energy consumption

  • Improved boiler efficiency and water quality

  • Safer hot water systems and enhanced control for residents

The project highlights the Assets Team’s commitment to smart, sustainable heating solutions that improve efficiency and resident comfort.
