Additive Industries celebrates system handover in China

Additive Industries has officially handed over its first MetalFAB1 system in China to the Marine Equipment Technology Institute (METI) of Jiangsu University of Science and Technology in Zhenjiang, China. As part of the trade mission celebrating 25 years of collaboration between the Provinces of Jiangsu and Noord-Brabant, home of Eindhoven Additive Industries’ headquarters in the Netherlands, also the Governors of both provinces were present to celebrate the collaboration. The MetalFAB1 system, used by innovation leaders in aeronautics, space and high performance automotive, will allow METI to accelerate production of heat exchangers for Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and other maritime, oil and gas applications.

“We are grateful to welcome METI as a leading partner in marine technology”, said Mike Goh, General Manager of Additive Industries Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. “Not only are they a frontrunner in marine applications but also the first in China to own a MetalFAB1 system.” The system will be used for research but mainly to transfer their innovative heat exchanger technology to series production.

“This installation and demonstration facility allows other industries to reference the technology in China, which is elementary for further expansion”, commented Wang Jun, General Manager of Sinsun-Tech, Additive Industries’ agent in China.
