Alleima has secured an important order for its Sanicro® 35 (UNS N08935) PRE 52 super-austenitic alloy for overhead exchanger tubes in a crude upgrader facility in Canada.
Sanicro® 35 is an alloy combining the best features of a super austenitic stainless steel and a nickel alloy, which is designed for highly aggressive corrosive environment.
It will replace tubes made from the high-alloy duplex stainless steel SAF® 2707 HD, following the customer’s desire to extend the turnaround cycle. Sanicro® 35 was compared to UNS N06200, but it was ultimately selected for its strong performance and cost-effectiveness. Sanicro® 35 performs similarly to C-276 and better than alloy 625. It can also be used in a higher temperature range than duplex grades.
